About

We dont choose where we are born.  For most of us living in Australia we have no problem getting access to the services we need for healthy and informed living.  But for people living in the worlds most remote areas their isolation limits the opportunites they have to essential life services.

Being isolated geographically, economically or politically means that access to education, health, Physical, community and spiritual services and resources are very limited.  Their isolation is a huge barrier to personal and community development.

MAF staff believe that with aviation and other technologies we can remove these barriers and provide access to essential services which lead to physical and spiritual transformation.

MAF GA8 Airvan

Our aviation services make the previously impossible things possible for people who are living in some of the world’s most challenging and isolated areas – delvering goods and services and transporting people to provide support in community development, health and education, medical evacuations and ministry opportunities.

Our Learning Technologies services support the training of isolated church leaders through distance education and communication services.  We help church leaders and Bible teachers understand and use technologies such as media players, Bible study software, smartphones, online tools, Moodle and other course software to enable church based training to take place for students who are restricted in their access of learning experiences because of their isolation.

Learning

Delivering information or content alone does not guarantee instruction. Especially when there are barriers such as isolation and distance between the teacher and the learner.  The MAF Learning Technologies specialists offer a toolbox of technology tools, advice, curriculum development and learning delivery options. Our partners bring cultural expertise and deep commitment to their people. Together we seek to find the Lord’s leading for their specific education needs.

Technologies

For the church in the developing world opportunities to engage in learning experiences online or connect regularly with peers, mentors and resources are limited causing a variety of challenges.    The MAF learning technologies team confronts that challenge with both software and hardware technologies. We help church leaders use web based applications, software tools and digital devices in their teaching ministry and communications with each other.

MAF LT Moodle logoMAF Learning Technologies specialists can support your church teachers with training in the use of Moodle to provide learning experiences to external students and isolated church leaders. We can show you how to create and deliver Moodle courses online or offline to areas without internet access.

Resources

There are many Bible teaching resources available online to support the training of Christian leaders, but for the isolated or remote Church many of these resources are beyond their reach. MAF Learning Technologies supports the isolated church by sourcing and seeking author permissions to share curriculum and Christian courses in digital formats.  Audio-visual and text-based resources have been collected and made available to church leaders in developing countries.
